Cratloe Fun Doggie Show & Fun Fair
This Sunday Sept 26th. 2010 the 8th Annual Cratloe Fun Doggie Show will be held in the Cratloe GAA pitch. This years show features 20 different dog classes including Best 6 legs – Dog & Owner, Best Waggiest Tail, Most Handsome Dog, Dog the Judge would most like to take Home, Saddest Eyes, Best Fancy Dress, prettiest Bitch, Best Pair of Dogs, Best Biscuit Catcher and many more. Organised by Michael Prior from the Munster Dog Training and Behaviour School the show starts at 2.00p.m. Over 600 dogs entered in 2009 and the organisers expect an increase in these numbers this year.
The Robert Manning Perpetual Trophy, sponsored by the Munster Dog School will be presented to the Overall Best Show Dog.
Dynamic Will Leahy from 2Fm along with the gorgeous Geri Maye from Winning Streak will have the tough job of choosing 1st – 4th in all 20 categories.
Apart from the dog show there will be a lot more to see and do at the GAA pitch. Other events included …………
Glf Putting, Sliothar thru the Hole, Long Puck, Football thru the Tyre, Soccer Penalties. Other attractions of great interest to the younger folk will the Bouncy Castles and the pony rides. Grateful thanks goes to Linda Gleeson, Cratloe for supplying and walking the ponies. Guess the number of items in a jar and win the lot, face painting with Mary Hayes, Butterfly Play School, Cratloe and a well stocked book stall will complete the side attractions.
This year we also have the services of a professional photographer who is offering special deals to all who would like to take home a portrait of their doggie. The Pet Photography studio will be set up in a dressing room.
For the hungry, a BBQ will also in operation throughout the day serving burgers, hot dogs and minerals while tea, coffee and snacks were available in the dressing rooms.
